The two branches of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA are each holding a “Healthy Kids’ Day,” a free community event filled with fun kids activities. The Yarrow Family YMCA Healthy Kids’ Day in Westlake Village is Saturday, April 12. The Simi Valley Family YMCA Healthy Kids’ Day is Saturday, April 26. Hours are 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Healthy Kids’ Day has six interactive fun zones that kids can visit. Included are arts and crafts, carnival games, rock climbing and an obstacle course.

Healthy Kids’ Day is a national event that began over 30 years ago. YMCAs around the country participate each spring. “Kids can easily spend hours each day on their phones or other devices instead of playing outdoors,” says Ronnie Stone, Southeast Ventura County YMCA president and CEO. “Healthy Kids’ Day inspires them to put down their devices and enjoy all the fun outdoor activities that are available.”

The Yarrow Family YMCA is at 31105 East Thousand Oaks Blvd., Westlake Village (818-707-9622) and the Simi Valley Family YMCA is at 3200 Cochran St., Simi Valley (805-583-5338).
Preregistration is required. Go to https://www.sevymca.org/events and select one of the Healthy Kids’ Day locations.
