(Newbury Park, CA)  The Hogan Family Foundation operates a number of very successful humanitarian, civic, and educational programs throughout Ventura County with the help of some 250 volunteers, who have collectively contributed more than 12,500 hours of their time to benefit their communities in the past year.

The importance of this kind of activity is recognized every April, as the nation celebrates Volunteer Appreciation Month, but the Hogan Family Foundation thanks its helpers every day for their unwavering support and outstanding accomplishments.  Through the Foundation’s Rancho St. Francis programs and the Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks, its volunteer corps assists over 50,000 individuals annually.

Christine Hogan, Hogan Family Foundation executive vice president, said, “The contributions made by our wonderful volunteers continue to have a lasting, positive and meaningful effect on our communities.  We can’t thank them enough for their selfless efforts and service.”

The many Hogan Family Foundation programs include operation of Rancho St. Francis—two ranches that house and rehabilitate abused and abandoned horses and large breed dogs.  Through these animals, over 200 volunteers help special needs, disabled and needy children and adults, children of deployed military, and others in the community.

The Foundation’s 4.5-acre Gardens of the World hosts thousands of visitors from around the world, providing free tours, summer jazz concerts, and educational presentations, including offering over 1,000 fourth grade students history lessons on the famous California missions.  The 44 docents at the Gardens lead tours, assist visitors, answer questions about the plants and environment, and monitor the grounds.
