  • 13th Annual Gardens of the World Free Concerts Announced

    (Thousand Oaks, CA)  The Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks, CA is hosting its 13th annual, free summer concert series that will run on four concurrent Sundays beginning August 2, 2015.  This year’s program is titled “All That Jazz,” featuring some of the best jazz and Big Band musicians around.
     
    The first concert August 2 will light up the Gardens of the World with The Mills Brothers Show with John Mills, Jr. and Elmer Hopper, formerly of The Platters, continuing the 75-year legacy of one of the greatest vocal groups of all time.  August 9 showcases the Susie Hansen Latin Jazz Orchestra, a high-energy group led by Hansen and her fiery electric violin—salsa style.  Grammy Award winning keyboardist and composer Gregg Karukas will entertain with his pop and jazz hits August 16.  The concert series ends August 23 with Joe Gray and his Late Nite Big Band, playing swing standards and nostalgic music from the 1940s and beyond.
     
    The Sunday concerts will run from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Gardens of the World at 2001 Thousand Oaks Boulevard.  Lawn seating is available in front of the Gardens of the World’s American Bandstand.  Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets are welcome; however, smoking, glass containers, alcohol, and pets are not allowed. 
     
    No parking is permitted at the Gardens of the World for these events.  There is free parking along Thousand Oaks Boulevard in front of the Gardens.  Paid parking is also available at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza across the street.
