Founded in 1959, Cal Lutheran is a selective university based in Thousand Oaks with additional locations in Woodland Hills, Westlake Village, Oxnard, Santa Maria and Berkeley. With an enrollment of 4,100 students, Cal Lutheran offers undergraduate and graduate programs through its College of Arts and Sciences, School of Management, Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Psychology and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. Members of the student body come from across the nation and around the world and represent a diversity of faiths and cultures.
The university's mission is to educate leaders for a global society who are strong in character and judgment, confident in their identity and vocation, and committed to service and justice. This is accomplished through small classes sizes and a range of opportunities for students to work with the dedicated and accomplished faculty members on research, service and other activities. The campus is large enough to bring diverse perspectives to the table, but small enough to enable students to stand out and carve their own niche.
The Career Services Center provides support throughout college and beyond, helping students land internships and begin their professional lives. Within six months of graduation, 97 percent of Cal Lutheran students are working or attending graduate school.
