A California native, Dr. Whitmer grew up in the small suburb of San Ramon, located in the San Francisco Bay area, and moved to southern California in 1999. She attended UCLA where she double majored with Highest Honors and received her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology and English Literature. She also attended UCLA for dental school and subsequently received her DDS degree with the highest honor given, Magna Cum Laude. In addition to being a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, Dr. Whitmer is also featured in Who’s Who: Executive and Professional Women in Dentistry. Dr. Whitmer was honored by the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce with a 40 Under Forty 2016 Award for her work as a community leader and volunteer.
Prior to returning to Camarillo and opening her new office, Dr. Whitmer completed a General Practice residency at the Long Beach VA Hospital where she received advance training in implants, cosmetics, oral surgery, periodontics, root canals, and dentures. She then worked in private practice as an associate in Camarillo before deciding to open her own practice in Westlake Village, where she stayed for nearly five years. She is dedicated to the newest advancements in dentistry and keeps up-to-date with the latest technologies and procedures by taking continuing education courses.
When Dr. Whitmer is not practicing her passion of dentistry, she loves to spend time with friends, travel, yoga, garden, and read. She also likes to volunteer her time with service organizations and with underprivileged dental clinics across Southern California.
